Ride Report - Day of the Fox

I woke up easily this morning at 5:30, was out the door by 5:45ish and headed to Hains Point for a couple laps.  I was happy to take advantage of one of the last of these Indian summer days with temps in the low 60's, a bit of humidity and not alot of wind.  I was able to do two laps and make it home by 6:40 or so, the only disappointment was yet another failure with my MapMyRide app (on my Samsung Galaxy S2). I showed good GPS signal when I departed and had a track till the last 10 min or so but the track was way off the map and I'd have needed a boat to do the route as displayed... another good case for a dedicated biking GPS right?!?

The highlight of the ride was seeing a fox on the western side of Hains Point, crossing the road then hanging out on the grassy area just staring at me. A first for DC (outside of the zoo).  I'm not sure exactly where this blog will go, if anywhere... but it seemed like a good idea while I was riding this morning so here I am.

I'd be remiss to not call out the cycling blogs Peddaling Along, Path less Peddaled and the Lovely Bicycle amongst others that have not only kept up my interest in biking but lodged the idea for blogging about it too.
